On October 9, 2023, Vijay Antony’s wife, Fatima took to her X handle (previously known as Twitter) and dropped the first-ever post after their daughter’ Meera’s untimely death. She remembered her late daughter by sharing a candid picture of her. Along with the picture, Fatima penned a heartbreaking note and poured out her feelings. In her note, she mentioned that she would have kept her daughter away from everyone had she known that she would leave her so soon. Adding that she can’t live without her daughter, Fatima wrote:
“If I’d known u will live only for 16 yrs, I would have just kept u very close to me, not even shown you to the sun and moon,am drowning and dying with ur thoughts, can’t live without you ,come back to babba, and amma. laara keeps waiting for u,love u Thangam@vijayantony.”

When Vijay Antony shared his first statement after daughter, Meera’s death
On September 21, 2023, Vijay had issued his first statement after his 16-year-old daughter, Meera’s untimely demise. Taking to his X handle (previously known as Twitter), he penned a note in Tamil. In his note, Vijay mentioned that his daughter was a brave girl and is now in a better place. Adding that he died with her, Vijay penned:
“My dear people, my daughter Meera is a loving and brave girl. She is now in a better and peaceful place where caste, creed, money, jealousy, pain, poverty and animosity are better than this world. She is still talking to me. I died with her. I have now started spending time for her. I will now do good things on her behalf and she will kickstart them.”

Vijay and Fatima’s 16-years-old daughter, Meera was in class 12. And it came as a shock to the entire nation to see a school kid taking such a drastic step. As per multiple media reports, Meera ended her life because of some mental health problems. However, her family has refrained from commenting on the reports.

About Vijay Antony’s personal life
Vijay Antony made his acting debut with a crime thriller, Naan, in 2012. Later, he went on to work in popular films like Kolai, Tamilarasan, Kodiyil Oruvan, Ratham, Saithan and many more. He tied the knot to Fatima in 2006. And in 2007, they welcomed their daughter, Meera. Later they welcomed their second daughter, Laara Vijay Antony.
