Sadhguru’s parents and family background

Jagadish Vasudev Sadhguru was born on September 3, 1957, into a Telugu family in Mysore. As per multiple reports, Sadhguru was the youngest among five siblings, born to his parents, Susheela Vasudev and B.V. Vasudev. While his father worked as an ophthalmologist at the Mysuru Railway Hospital, his mother was a homemaker.

As per records, Sadhguru reportedly completed his basic education at Demonstration School, Mysore. After completing his schooling, he decided to enrol at the University of Mysore, where he pursued a degree in English literature.
During his time at the university, Sadhguru reportedly achieved second rank in his program and was one of the brightest students in his batch. Despite his parents’ desire for him to pursue postgraduate studies, Sadhguru had a different vision and chose to embark on a business career instead
When Sadhguru closed his poultry farm to travel and teach yoga
After completing his studies at the University of Mysore, Sadhguru ventured into business by establishing a poultry farm in Mysore. However, at the age of 25, he started exploring spiritual experiences that led him to shut down his business ventures. It was a risky step, but Sadhguru believed in his love for yoga and embarked on a journey of teaching yoga in Mysore in 1983.
During his college days, Sadhguru fell in love with travelling, and reportedly he went on a few motorcycle rides, which made him a rider. Even after college, when he started teaching yoga, he used to travel to different places on his motorcycle across Karnataka and Hyderabad.
His unique style of yoga was known as Sahaja Sthiti Yoga. During this period, Sadhguru rented out his poultry farm to generate income and the money that he used to earn from his yoga students; he used to donate to the needy ones selflessly.

Jaggi Vasudev Sadhguru’s luxurious car and bike collection
Apart from being a spiritual leader, Jagadish Vasudev Sadhguru is also an automobile enthusiast. His love and madness for cars and bikes are simply incomparable. Over the years, we have seen him investing in some of the best cars and motorbikes in the world. Talking about the expensive cars parked in Sadhguru’s garage includes the likes of Mercedes–Benz G-Class G 63 AMG worth Rs. 2.44 crores and 1000PS Toyota Scion worth lakhs.
However, more than the four-wheeler, Sadhguru is inclined towards motorbikes, and the list includes the likes of the BMW K 1600 GT worth Rs. 29.98 lakhs, Ducati Multistrada 1260 worth Rs. 21.42 lakhs and Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled worth Rs. 10.89 lakhs.
Sadhguru’s Isha Foundation controversy
Jagadish Vasudev Sadhguru is also the founder of the Isha Foundation, which is headquartered in Coimbatore, India. Since its establishment in 1992, Sadhguru’s Isha Foundation has been actively involved in educational and spiritual initiatives through its ashram and yoga centre.
However, as per a report by Newslaundry, Isha Foundation had illegally encroached upon forest land and elephant corridors at Velliangiri Hills in the Western Ghats. The news agency had collected several testimonies and examined court records hinting at the damage and death of elephants due to the encroachment.

When Sadhguru was accused of killing his own wife, Vijayakumari
Jagadish Vasudev Sadhguru entered into marriage with his late wife, Vijayakumari, back in 1984. After some years of their marriage, Sadhguru and Vijayakumari welcomed their only child, Radhe, in 1990. However, unfortunately, Vijayakumari passed away on January 23, 1997. After her sudden demise, Sadhguru faced controversy surrounding his wife’s death, who had passed away at his Isha Yoga Center.
The spiritual leader was accused of his wife’s murder. Vijayakumari’s parents even filed a police report, alleging dowry harassment as a factor in their daughter’s demise. However, the charges were soon dropped due to lack of evidence.
Following her mother’s footsteps, Radhe received training in Bharatanatyam at the renowned Kalakshetra Foundation in Chennai. It was on September 3, 2014, when Radhe got married to renowned Indian classical vocalist, Sandeep Narayan in a lavish wedding at the Isha Yoga Center in Villingiri Hills.
