But there is another person in her life that people claim holds a special place in her heart. Rekha’s friendship with her secretary, Farzana often grabs the media glare. According to the writer, Yasser Usman, Rekha shares a mysterious relationship with Farzana.

The writer claimed that Farzana is the only one who is permitted access to Rekha’s bedroom. She controls every minute detail of her life. Strangely, they have been together for over three decades. In fact, everyone in the film fraternity knows that Rekha doesn’t move an ounce without Farzana.
According to the book, Yasser claimed that Farzana was the reason behind the suicide of Rekha’s husband, Mukesh Aggarwal. In fact, a famous journalist, Malavika Sanghvi took a dig at Rekha’s love life and said:
“Farzana is perfect for Rekha. She is her consultant, her friend, and supporter and Rekha simply can’t live without her.”

When Rekha was called a ‘man-eater’ and ‘witch’ after her husband’s suicide
In 1990, Rekha’s husband, Mukesh Aggarwal, who was a Delhi-based businessman, ended his life after committing suicide, while the actress was in London. Mukesh Aggarwal left a suicide note claiming that no one was responsible for his end, the nation was sure that Rekha’s cold behaviour added to his depression. Subhash Ghai in a media interaction stated that Rekha had put a blot on the face of the industry.
Subhash Ghai was quoted as saying:
“Rekha has put such a blot on the face of the film industry that it’ll be difficult to wash it away. I think after this, any respectable family will think twice before accepting any actor as their bahu. It’s going to be tough even professionally for her. No conscientious director will work with Rekha ever again. How will the audience accept her as Bharat ki nari or insaf ki devi (A woman of India or a proponent of justice)?”
