Born as Parvathy Thiruvothu Kottuvattaa in Calicut, Kerala, the beautiful actress of the Malayalam film industry needs no introduction as her body of work speaks for itself. A successful television anchor, Parvathy began her acting career in 2006 with the film, Out of Syllabus. She rose to fame with the film, Notebook, however, her first role as a leading actress was in the Kannada film, Milana.
It was the 2015 film, Ennu Ninte Moideen, which garnered her a lot of attention critically and commercially. With films like, Bangalore Days, Charlie, Take Off, Koode, Uyare, Virus, Maryan and many more, Parvathy made a name for herself in not just Malayalam but Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada film industry. She has perfectly secured her position as the most versatile actress in Indian cinema.

With an array of superhits in her kitty, Parvathy is the most bankable actress in the South Indian film industry. However, the actress has always guarded her personal life, especially her love life. On October 28, 2022, the curly-haired actress, Parvathy gave a huge surprise to her fans when she announced her pregnancy. The news of her pregnancy came as a shock for many as she is not yet married. Announcing her pregnancy out of wedlock, Parvathy posted a picture of the pregnancy test stick, with two positive lines and captioned it as:
“So…The wonder begins.”
Many celebs congratulated Parvathy, but some of her fans got confused with the news and called it a promotional gimmick. Parvathy’s colleagues bombarded the comments section with love and wishes.
Apart from her path-breaking movies, Parvathy is known for her upfront opinions on various topics. In 2019, the actress criticized the films, Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh for glorifying misogyny, abuse and violence against women at the International Film Festival of India. Parvathy’s comments got a lot of appreciation from many as she pointed out the issues in the film in front of the male lead, Vijay Deverakonda, without being biased.

In 2018, at the Jio MAMI 20th Mumbai Film Festival, Parvathy opened up about being assaulted as a child and how she still struggles to overcome the experience. Recalling the incident, Parvathy had stated:
“It happened to me when I was very young. It took me 17 years to realise it did happen to me. I was three or four years old. I didn’t ask for it. But I was assaulted. And then to speak about it, it took me another 12 years.”
