Recently, a Reddit user shared pictures of Aishwarya and Rani together. The ladies looked adorable as they shared a warm bond, which was visible in the photos. In one of the photos, we can see Rani Mukerji hugging Aishwarya. In another photo, the ladies were seen sharing a laugh.

Netizens recalled Aishwarya and Rani’s rivalry to being the Bachchan bahu
As soon as the pictures made rounds on the internet, netizens recalled how Rani and Aishwarya were put up against each other. One user wrote, “Around the time Rani replaced Aishwarya in Chalte Chalte, I read in a gossip column in The Telegraph that Rani used to call Aishwarya ‘didi’. And that their relationship never recovered after the Chalte Chalte ‘betrayal’. After Abhishek Bachan’s engagement with Karisma was called off, for a time there were rumors of Rani being with him. When Aishwarya came into the picture, the word in the gossip columns was that Jaya had a hand in replacing Rani with Aishwarya as the Bachan bahu.”
Another user wrote, “It’s funny you mention the Bachchan bahu thing. I remember the gossip columns went wild over who between Rani and Aish would marry Abhishek and always pitted them against each other even until Aish and Abhi got engaged.”

If the early 2000s reports are to be believed, Aishwarya and Rani’s fallout also happened as the latter was in a strong relationship with Abhishek Bachchan. However, everyone was shocked when Rani wasn’t invited to Abhishek’s wedding. In an old interview, Rani had candidly answered that question and said that it proved that if a person chose not to invite you to their wedding, it shows your place in their life. She was quoted as saying:
“Only Abhishek can throw light on that. The truth is that if a person chooses not to invite you to their wedding, you realise where you stand with the person. You may be deluded and think you are friends but maybe the friendship was only restricted to being co-stars on the sets. However, it doesn’t matter now It became very clear and evident that we were only co-actors and not friends.”
