Once in an interview with a news portal, iconic actor, Shashi Kapoor had opened up about his personal life, which he hardly used to discuss in public. In the rare conversation, Shashi Kapoor talked about Jennifer Kendal and recalled the time when he had decided to marry the love of his life, Jennifer. While revealing details of the same, Shashi Kapoor had admitted that when he had seen Jennifer for the first time in his life, he was just 18 years old and had decided that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. The actor also shared his father and legendary actor, Prithviraj Kapoor’s reaction to his will to marry Jennifer at the age of 18. Revealing his response, he had said:
“When I saw Jennifer, when I was 18, I wanted to marry her immediately. My parents were (shocked expression) said, ‘My god 18 is a bit young’. So I said, ‘Okay, I’ll wait’. I waited two years, then they asked me ‘Do you still want to?’ I said, ‘Yes’ and they said okay.”
There’s no denying the fact that Shashi Kapoor was one of the most handsome, successful, and renowned actors in the film industry. He was really a fan favourite, courtesy of his sought-after life with his wife, Jennifer Kendal and their kids, Karan Kapoor, Sanjana Kapoor, and Kunal Kapoor. “Oh Christ, no! I didn’t. Why? I don’t think I can. I don’t think I can find anyone better. I know I can’t. They don’t make them like that anymore.”
